JORDAN'S FLYWAY HOTSPOTS -
Spring Migration Spectacle & Western Palearctic Specialities!

Welcome to Jordan's Spring Birdwatching Adventure!

Nestled at the crossroads of Africa, Asia, and Europe, Jordan lies along one of the world's most vital bird migration routes, making it a haven for avian enthusiasts during the vibrant spring season. As millions of birds journey northward from their wintering grounds, the country's diverse landscapes—from arid deserts and lush wetlands to ancient ruins and rift valleys—transform into a living spectacle of feathers and flight. Spring brings an extraordinary influx of migratory species, including majestic raptors like Long-legged Buzzard, Imperial & Steppe Eagles, Lesser Kestrels, soaring White Pelicans, colourful passerines such as Masked Shrike, Semicollared Flycatcher, White-throated Robin, Thrush Nightingale, Eastern Bonelli's Warbler, and waders such as Red-necked Phalarope, Collared Pratincoles & Marsh Sandpiper. In fact the allotments, lakes & marshes along the Gulf of Aqaba can literally be teeming with migrants and the bushes can seem alive with birds at this time of year!

There are also a number of key Western Palearctic species that make a visit to this wonderful country essential, none more so than Syrian Serin and Sinai Rosefinch, both of which we should hopefully find. As well as those WP mega's, there is a strong supporting cast of other important species to our region including Sand Partridge, White-eyed Gull, Desert Owl, Nubian Nightjar, Arabian Green Bee-eater, Namaqua Dove, Long-billed Pipit, Arabian Babbler, Blackstart, Basalt Wheatear (now lumped into Mourning Wheatear), Fan-tailed Raven, Graceful Prinia, Clamorous Reed Warbler, Arabian Warbler, Palestine Sunbird, Dead Sea Sparrow, Tristram's Starling and Striolated Bunting amongst others.

Our expertly guided tour invites you to immerse yourself in this natural wonder, visiting premier hotspots like the Aqaba Bird Observatory—a pioneering site since 1987, ideal for observing migration, as well as spectacular Wadi Rum. Venture to the Azraq Wetland Reserve for waterfowl and warblers, the Dana Biosphere Reserve for dramatic canyon views and endemic birds, and even Petra, where ancient history meets modern birding opportunities. There's also a visit to the Dead Sea as well! Whether you're chasing rare Western Palearctic species or simply soaking in the serenity of nature, our sustainable, small-group expeditions ensure personalized experiences, expert insights, and unforgettable memories. And on top of this, Jordan is one of the safest countries in the Middle East, with friendly people, good food and excellent infrastructure.
