AZERBAIJAN - Mini birding break!

Explore Azerbaijan’s incredible birdlife during this tour that offers 5 full days birding to some of its most exciting destinations in Southern Azerbaijan. Shirvan National Park offers dramatic semi-desert landscapes, home to more than 290 bird species. The Talysh Mountains, with their lush forests are perfect for spotting woodland birds such as the mega rare Western Palearctic specialities - Caspian Tit and Shikra. At Gizilagaj National Park, the expansive wetlands attract countless waterfowl, waders, and migratory birds, whilst we will visit one of the most iconic mountains of the Greater Caucasus where we will search for regional endemics such as Caucasian Snowcock, Caucasian Grouse, White-winged Redstart and Great Rosefinch, along with other high-altitude species such as Lammergeier, Golden Eagle, Wallcreeper, Horned Lark, Mountain Chiffchaff, Red-Fronted Serin, and both Red-billed & Alpine Choughs. Add to this White-tailed Lapwing, Semicollared Flycatcher, Finsch's Wheatear, Green & Menetries's Warbler along with many others and you can see it's an action-packed mini-break packed with quality! We will also get to experience the authentic charm of mountain village life with an overnight stay at a local guesthouse in Laza village. Each stop on this action-packed journey promises diverse habitats and unforgettable birdwatching experiences.
